*** At this time WE DO NOT NEED CAT LITTER thanks to very generous donations by our friends at the Target Distribution Center and Church and Dwight aka Arm and Hammer
So much thought is given to our specific choices of products we use at Kitty Corner because we do need to create a safe, healthy and welcoming environment for our cats, our volunteers and our visitors. We also go to great lengths to ensure the health of the cats and do our best to avoid spreading germs, parasites and viruses in our unique adoption center. And we NEVER want to use products that could be harmful or toxic so please read the details for these items below!

THANK YOU BUB for sponsoring 4 bags a month!
THANK YOU TAMMY for sponsoring 1 bag a month!
We use at least 4 bags of this dry food a week (16-20 bags a month). It is the primary diet of the adult cats that are housed in our adoption center. We use it to try to keep a consistent, healthy, low allergy diet that is easy to dispense quickly. It runs about $43 for each 10 pound a bag. It is available at a most retailers and pet stores.
THANK YOU CLAIRE for sponsoring 1 bag a month!
THANK YOU CHRISTOPHER for sponsoring 1 bag a month!
THANK YOU PAT for sponsoring 2 bags a month!
We use 2 bags of this kitten food a week (8-10 bags a month) in the building and also provide it to our fosters as needed. We prefer this brand because the pieces are very small and easy to eat for kittens of all ages. A 16 pound bag costs about $34. It is available at a most retailers and pet stores.
We go through about 33 cans of canned food a day in the building! Plus we provide to our fosters as needed. Yes that is about 140+ cans a month!!! We use primarily Friskies Shreds and Filets – while some fosters prefer pate. NO cat food of any kind goes to waste here! It is available at a most retailers and pet stores and comes in multiple sizes.
Almost all young kittens in the rescue eat this canned food. We use it all year as needed and like to keep the shelves stocked for fosters. It is typically sold in 24 packs for about $20. They are available at a most retailers and pet stores.
All baby kittens in our rescue foster homes use KMR in pet baby bottles with Mini Miracle Nipples. We keep these items stocked as necessary along with Snuggle Safe heating discs and Warmies or Warmie Jrs. A full list of Baby supplies can be found on Amazon HERE.
We use about 75 “6 INCH” plates a day at Kitty Corner! We would love to make make this waste but we have NO TIME to properly wash and sanitize 75 bowls a day. So for the health and safety of our cats we use disposable plates for canned foods. And we use 6″ plates because they are the perfect size for the amount of food each cat gets! We buy 2000-3000 6″ plates a month to keep from ever running out! The bulk packs are available at a most retailers. *** WebRestaurantStore.com has a great price
We use ALOT of paper towels here everyday. Again for health and safety reasons, we need to use disposable towels often to avoid spreading germs etc between cat cages. We almost never have too many paper towels and we have no preference on brands. They are used often and quickly so the cheaper ones are great!
We use 6 of these refills a month (one in each room) in our building to keep our resident cats as happy and as calm as can be. They run between $17-$25 each depending on the size of the pack. They are available at a most retailers and pet stores.
We use plenty of trash bags here getting rid of all these paper plates, paper towels and SO MUCH CAT LITTER! We only use 13 GAL kitchen sized bags (that fit in our cans) and to hold used litter they HAVE TO BE STRONG! We prefer Hefty Ultra Strong, Glad Force Flex or (if you have a Sam’s membership their Members Mark bags are good and cheap!
We use bleach in every load of laundry here and we prefer cheap and low splash. To keep our cats healthy we make sure to destroy all germs in every load of laundry and when cleaning our litter scoops daily and litter boxes as needed. Due to the mess that bleach can make in shipping, this is better to buy in store and drop off to us anytime!
In our Intake (Quarantine Room) we use these disposable Litter Boxes for all of the new cats to avoid parasite and virus cross-contamination. We use the large size. At this point we have a box or two shipped every week.

And finally we will discuss cleaning solutions we use here daily – *** PLEASE DO NOT BUY any cleaners that contain CITRUS, BLEACH OR EUCALYPTUS! Those are toxic/harmful to cats so we are specific about cleaners!
- We use PLAIN OLD REGULAR BLUE DAWN dish soap on many things here. WE DO NOT use Dawn Platinum or Dawn Power Wash which are believed to be toxic to cats – just the good old original Dawn! We also use this for kitty baths especially to kill fleas on the teeny tiny babies that come in!
- We use Lavendar Vinegar cleaner on our new floors daily. We love the quality pure clean of vinegar without the smell! Vinegar cleaner was recommended by the flooring installer and is working well!
- On all cages for basic daily cleaning we use the Nature’s Miracle for Cats – Stain and Odor Remover BUT AVOID THE ORANGE SCENTED OPTIONS!
