Why Adoption Fees Matter
At Forever Love Rescue, we work hard to keep our costs as low as possible — but getting every healthy kitten ready for adoption still costs us between $125 and $190. That amount covers essential vet care, vaccinations, testing, and spay/neuter surgery.
And that’s just for the healthy ones! Many of our cats and kittens come to us needing extra medical attention, special diets, or extended care. Add in the cost of food, litter, cleaning supplies, and daily necessities, and you can imagine how quickly expenses add up.
Our adoption fees — which range from $60 to $100 per cat — help offset a portion of those costs. The rest must be covered through fundraising and donations, which also help us pay our bills and keep our doors open.
Each year, Team Forever Love welcomes more than 400 cats and kittens into our adoption program. While many find loving homes, others remain with us longer as they wait for their purr-fect match — and we continue to care for them for as long as they need.
