Welcome to our memorial page for Scott Waybrant
We would like to join our friends at Adams County Community Cats in thanking you all for your support and especially for remembering Scott with a Memorial Contribution.
On June 23rd 2021, our world lost a dear friend when Scott Waybrant was taken from us all suddenly. We have set up a Memorial Fund for Trap Neuter Return and Community Cats in his name so that his beloved wife and soulmate, Dr. Lisa C. Wolkind, and her friends can continue their mission to saving the lives of cats locally. Scott was an amazing “Cat Dad” to Bugsy and others among his many other accomplishments.
To date (March 17, 2023) this Memorial Fund has raised $5880.01 to help in the spaying and neutering of local community cats as well as providing them with lifesaving vaccines and other veterinary care. This includes memorial donations made in memory of Stevie Wonder Two-Two who was just one of Adams County Community Cats’ heartwarming success stories!
Stevie came from ACCC’s very first community cat management project in Bendersville. If it had not been for Scott’s urging, Lisa Wolkind DVM would never have stepped out of her medical comfort zone and approached council with a project management idea. Had council and NCF not partnered with the newly emerging TNR team, Stevie would never have been spotted by volunteer Tory hiding in the straw on a cold January day. Had Scott not been there to help hang barn doors for Stevie’s colony the little black and white “cow cat” would never have been captured and then found his loving home with Andy Kling and Laurie Heupel. Prior to adoption Stevie had a short sleep over at Scott and Lisa’s home. Scott and Stevie were clearly connected in many ways. When it came time that Stevie’s body became tired and he did not have the strength to go on, we helped him cross the rainbow bridge. His parents agreed that it seemed natural for Stevie’s legacy to involve an effort to give back to community cats with medical needs as many had done for him. It also seemed natural for this effort to be a collaboration with this Scott Waybrant Memorial fund.
