What is the ACCF Giving Spree?
Adams County’s Biggest Day of Giving
Each year, Adams County comes together for one extraordinary day of generosity during the Adams County Community Foundation Giving Spree. It’s a celebration of the nonprofit organizations that work every day to make our community a better place to live, work, and play. Our the Giving Spree has become one of the largest per capita giving days in the nation!
With about 100 participating nonprofits, there is truly something for everyone. Whether your passion is helping animals, supporting families, preserving history, promoting the arts, or strengthening our community in countless other ways, you’ll find organizations making a meaningful difference every day. The Giving Spree is more than a fundraiser. It’s an opportunity to meet the people behind the missions, learn about the impact they’re making, and discover how you can become part of that impact.

How can you help make the ACCF Giving Spree a day to remember?
- SHARE – SHARE – SHARE!!! Spread the word by telling your family, friends, neighbors, coworkers, literally everyone you can about this amazing day of giving! Spread the word by mouth and by social media too! Watch your favorite non-profits for posts to share in the upcoming months.
- Plan your meaningful donations NOW! Contact the Adams County Community Foundation to find out all the ways to donate beyond checks and credit cards such as Securities, Qualified Charitable Distribution from your IRA or Grants from a Donor-Advised Fund or Private Foundation and more.
- Mark your calendars to GIVE on November 5th! We prefer that you JOIN US in person but for those who can’t make it you can mail in donations ahead of time (donation forms will become available mid-September) or you can donate online all day on November 5th.
What sets the ACCF Giving Spree apart from other local give days?
- The “All for One and One for All” spirit of our local non-profits who come together to make our whole community a better place! We don’t ask for you to click on a private link and make a donation to our non-profit alone… We ask you to come out and support the work of so many deserving nonprofits that make Adams County a great place to live, work and play!
- The Adams County Community Foundation charges our community’s nonprofits NOTHING to participate! 100% of every dollar you donate goes directly to the nonprofits you choose to support (less credit card fees of course). The ACCF works so hard for our non-profits every year and does their own private fundraising to cover the costs of this event and it’s advertising through private sponsors. - Donors in and around Adams County give generously! In a rural community with a rather low population, Adams County raises a generous amount of money on this day making it one of America’s largest per capita giving days!
- ACCF gives the donor options on how to give and how to support all of the participating non-profits. The Giving Spree makes it easy for you to give to multiple nonprofits with one gift by check, credit card, securities, or even a qualified charitable distribution from your IRA. You decide how each gift you make will be used by the nonprofits you support with a checkbox on the Donation Form. Check “TODAY” and your gift goes directly to the organization for its immediate use. Check “FOREVER” and your gift will be added to your favorite nonprofits’ individual endowments, which then provides an annual grant to the nonprofits for years and decades to come.
- The foundation also boosts donations using specialized incentive matches and prizes awarded to participating groups.

This year’s Giving Spree isn’t just about helping us continue our lifesaving work. It’s about helping us build an even brighter, more impactful future for the #CatsOfGettysburg and beyond.
This year, we’re proud to launch the first phase of our Capital Campaign with a dream we’ve held close to our hearts for many years… A permanent home for Kitty Corner !!!
Imagine what it would mean to no longer worry about monthly rent. Every dollar we currently spend on rent could instead provide food, medical care, lifesaving surgeries, and countless second chances. A permanent home would also give us the opportunity to expand our programs, care for more cats, and continue growing to meet the needs of our community for years to come.
We’re incredibly proud of everything we’ve accomplished together. Every adoption, every rescue, every foster home, every volunteer, and every supporter has helped write this story. But our work extends far beyond the walls of Kitty Corner. We’re equally committed to reducing the number of homeless cats through aggressive spay and neuter efforts. By preventing unwanted litters today, we’re creating a brighter tomorrow for generations of cats still to come.
We’re honored to work alongside our friends at the Adams County SPCA and so many dedicated rescuers and caregivers who share this mission. Together, we’re working toward a future where fewer cats are born without homes, where outdoor cats can live healthier lives, and where every cat has the opportunity for safety, compassion, and care.
Ironically, our greatest hope is that one day organizations like ours won’t be needed. Until that day comes, we want to ensure Forever Love Rescue has a permanent place in Gettysburg, ready to answer the next call for help, welcome the next frightened kitten, and celebrate the next adoption story.
Together, we can build something that lasts for generations.
